Corpsmembership has its benefits

Corpsmembers are paid a living stipend of $580 every two weeks, or the equivalent of $7.25/hr. In addition, eligible Corpsmembers also receive an AmeriCorps education award at the completion of their term, worth $1,250 for 450 hours, $2,362.50 for 900 hours, or $4,725 for 1700 hours. You also receive great training opportunities to further your personal and professional goals, including enhanced understanding of the environment and environmental issues and access to federal land management agencies and staff.

You are eligible if...

You are between the ages of 18 and 25. You also need to have your high school diploma or GED, and agree to stick to a drug-free lifestyle. You do NOT need experience in this type of work, but you do need to have the desire to make a difference. Successful corpsmembers have a sense of humor, take initiative, are dependable, dedicated, flexible and adaptive, are team players able to get along well with others and thrive in diversity, like working in the outdoors, and don't fear breaking a sweat. You may sign on as an AmeriCorps member, in which case you need to meet additional eligibility requirements, primarily being a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
