On Wednesday, CREC teamed up with Youth in Action, Flagstaff's other AmeriCorps program, for Flagstaff's annual Fourth of July parade. For the third year running, a CREC van and trailer were festively painted by members of both programs. Participants walked or rode bikes and carried candy, signs, chainsaws, or backpack sprayers, which turned out to be lifesaving for the paradegoers, as temperatures topped 96 degrees F, breaking the daily record in Flag.
