Previous Employer ContactsTwo of my most recent employers are no longer available for contact. My most recent job has shut down and moved overseas, and another important nonprofit position has a new supervisor now who I didnt work with at the time. Will these 2 issues be a dermining factor when evaluating my application? I would like to know if this should worry me about likelihood of getting a position? Also, when should applications be completed by to help insure a position? Thank you...Eric Posted by vaporjourney at 10:54:11 on 23 April 2006.

Eric,
Short answer, it probably won't affect your application. Long answer, we always like to know as much as possible about our applicants and references are invaluable in that regard. Our application process is fairly competitive--we turn down two people for each person we accept--and references can sometimes make the difference. A strong interview will get you just as far, though. Hope that helps,
Jeff
